Hand Colouring
One of my personal projects that I absolutely love- though it’s very time consuming.
The process involves firstly taking an image on film and developing it in the darkroom on an absorbent paper. Once dry the image is then painted over or ‘hand coloured’., in my case with watercolour and ink, although you could use whatever you wanted.
The process used to be very popular for family portraits for people with money, before colour film became available, though the colours were rarely realistic.
